Beginning Bagpipes

A workshop-style class for beginners to learn how to play The Great Highland Bagpipe. Instruction in the correct form and basic fundamentals of playing the bagpipe: includes the basic fingering, technique, notation, and sight-reading which is first learned on a practice changer. Emphasis on scales, embellishments, and playing simple tunes. With competence playing the practice changer you can advance to The Great Highland Bagpipe.

No experience is necessary. You will need a practice changer. One can be purchased on Amazon or I recommend a ” Pipers Choice Practice Chanter” from Henderson Imports, $50.00. I also recommend the tutor book ” College of Piping Highland Bagpipe Tutor part 1″, it’s called “The Green Book”. $30.00.
