1.      This week's band lessons are for WEEK C. (N. Hauta)
 
2.      Ala Carte Line  for grades 5-8th  this week, Grades7 & 8 will go first. (Mrs. Kess)
 
3.      Juniors and Seniors: Today is the last day to buy tickets for the Junior/Senior Banquet at lunch and after school. The Banquet is on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:00 at Amici's. The cost is $20. (Mrs. Hart)
 
4.      Boys’ & Girls’ Track Teams will be excused at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 2nd for their meet in Virginia. (Coach Dusich & Helms)
 
5.      Grades 5 & 6 are invited to attend the matinee performance of the 5/6th musical, ”The Little Mermaid, Jr.” this Friday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium. (Mr. Rouse)
 
6.      Grade 6 ELC Trip: Reminder to all 6th graders going to the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, your payment and discipline sheets are due this Friday, May 3rd. (Mr. Visser)
 
7.      Grades 5 & 6: The athletic department is looking for fifth or sixth grade students to work at baseball games as foul ball shaggers. The pay is $10.00 per student per game. Two students are needed for each game. There are approximately 8 home games. Write your full name on a piece of paper and ask your teacher to forward it to Mr. Omerza. (Mr. Omerza)
 
8.      The Ely Music & Drama Organization has applications in the counseling office for fine arts summer camp scholarships. There are three scholarships, one for $200 and two for $100. Applications must be returned.
 
9.      A Lifeguard Training Course will be offered at the Northeast Range School in Babbitt. The course will start on Monday, April 29th and run for two days a week through May 19th. Contact Jennifer at 827-3641 for information or come to the office. (J. Kaufenberg)

2.      Graduation Caps & Gowns will be handed out to you on Tuesday, April 30th at 8:30 a.m. in room 203. If you owe money on your order you will need to bring payment that day. (R. Erickson)
 
3.      MCA Make-up Day:   The following students should report to the computer lab at the start of 2nd hr. today to finish or make-up their MCS test: Shawna Butler, Emily Hignell, Gary Johnson, Brandon Weisinger, John Cook, Jessica Anderson, Brielle Kallberg, Apolonia Homer. (Ms. Pender)
 
4.      Sophomore Class Rings: If you ordered a class ring please go to room 203 at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30th. Jostens will be here to hand them out. (R. Erickson)
 
5.      Key Club will meet during advisory in the Media Center today. There will also be a meeting after school in room 203 for those who can make it. (J. Swanson/ECR)

9.      Our 5th grade classes have been rehearsing and memorizing poems that they will share at the 2nd annual Poetry and Punch event! This will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th in the auditorium. Families are welcome to attend. (Mrs. M. Anderson)

13. Spring Band &Choir Concert featuring the jr. & sr. high bands and choirs, will be Thursday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. (Mr. Hauta & Rouse)

5.      7th Graders:  Your bus will leave at 8:00 to go to the Discovery Center for the Engineering Festival today. Meet over by the football stadium. We will arrive back in Ely around 2:30. (Mrs. Hart)

9.      Dating and Relationship Violence   will be the program given at the Vermillion Community College Theater tonight at 7:00 p.m. Part of this program will be given by Hillary Hartleben, a former Ely High School Student, who became involved in an abusive relationship.   (Mrs. Kess)
 
10. Autism Fact:   Dogs have been shown to improve autistic children’s quality of life, independence, and safety.   (Key Club)
